During Chhattisgarh Assembly elections
Congress president Rahul Gandhi castigated the present ruling regime. While rahul Gandhi was busy in campaigning, He posed with PM'S lookalike.
Sharing the picture on Instagram, Gandhi wrote, “Look who I found campaigning for the Congress Party in Chhattisgarh”.
Gandhi shared two photos of himself with Modi doppelganger, Abhinandan Pathak, who was first spotted during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections along with many such Modi lookalikes. However, Pathak, who was with the BJP-led NDA constituent Republican Party of India (Athawale) as its state vice-president for Uttar Pradesh, decided to switch sides when he realised “achche din nahin ayenge” (good days won’t come).
He joined the Congress party last month in the presence of actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar and said he is campaigning for the opposition first time since the 2014 elections.
The photos shared on Gandhi’s personal Instagram handle created a huge buzz and garnered nearly 45,000 likes in just six hours. Donning a ‘Modi jacket’ with a tricolour muffler, Pathak dressed like the PM. However, instead of the lotus badge, the Congress campaigner’s jacket was decked with a hand symbol.
Pathak has been campaigning for the Congress in various seats of the region, including Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon and Bastar, and is drawing attention in a big way from the locals who jostle to click selfies with him. “Since I look like Modiji, people will always ask me where are the ‘acche din’ (good days), as promised by Modiji ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Hurt by seeing problems of the common man, I left the BJP’s ally to join Congress last month,” Pathak had told PTI.
